Programme for Active Learning (PAL)
PAL @ TKPS
The Programme for Active Learning (PAL) is an important part of our lower primary curriculum and complements the Art, Music and PE lessons. It provides a platform for our students to extend, reinforce and apply their learning through a wide range of fun and engaging activities that facilitate their holistic development in the physical, cognitive, social, aesthetics and moral domains.
PAL focuses on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and character values, time is intentionally set aside for students to engage in reflection, and to help inculcate values in them and develop their social-emotional competencies through identified CCE (Citizenship and Character Education) Learning Outcomes. Specific skills include self-motivation, self-reflection, positivity, working together, and curiosity. Through carefully designed individual, group activities and reflections, students can learn about themselves and understand how to better relate to and work with others.
All Primary 1 and 2 students will undergo modules of activities in the 4 PAL domains. Sports & Games, Outdoor Education, Performing arts and Visual Arts.
TKPS Adventurer’s Club
To further promote the active role of learning, we introduce a narrative-driven immersive experience through the TKPS Adventurer’s Club, where students complete missions, earn stickers and become full-fledged adventurers.
Our world is a beautiful place. On their path to becoming full-fledged junior adventurers, students go on journeys to explore various locations, some imaginary, some grounded in reality. They meet different characters, learn more about themselves, work collaboratively in teams, overcome different challenges to complete missions through creativity and teamwork to earn their achievement stickers.
